Dr Brian Coles, a resident from Crabwell Hall care home in Mollington, has become a published author in his own right for the very first time. Brian dedicated his life to being a vet and as such has a huge passion for animals. During his career, he collaborated with other authors but this is the first time he has written a book entirely by himself, something he is understandably very proud to have achieved.

Dr Coles has resided at Crabwell Hall for a year and in that time he has written and published his first book: 'Nature's Wings and Their Passengers'. The book contains a wealth of experience and knowledge about the ultimate origin and evolution of infectious diseases in humans, birds and other winged creatures.

Dr. Mark Pilgrim, Director General of Chester Zoo said: "It is a rare delight when someone with the wealth of experience of Brian puts his treasure trove of knowledge into print. The book is full of fascinating information on an underexplored aspect of evolutionary biology."

Kirsty Jones, General Manager at Crabwell Hall said: "The staff here at Crabwell Hall couldn't be prouder, this is an amazing achievement. Brian has kindly donated one of his books to our library where it has pride of place. His knowledge about animals is absolutely phenomenal."

Crabwell Hall care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK's largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Crabwell Hall provides residential care for 37 residents from respite care to long term stays.
