JASON Waite and Gary Butler, Tytherington golf members for more than 30 years, were victorious in the Chairman's Trophy Board competition.

Playing in challenging conditions over the 18 holes set up especially for the event to test the skills of the 80 golfers entered. Gary, playing off a handicap of 12, set off at a blistering pace scoring 22 points with six net birdies over the first eight holes.

Jason, playing off a handicap of 13, dovetailed nicely over the next five to keep the score on track. Gary then rattled in putts at 14 for a net birdie and at 16 for a net eagle before Jason holed a very tricky 20-foot putt on the 17th for the two points that would assure their victory.

Their score of 46 points was enough to take the trophy from runners-up David More O'Ferrall and Paul Calnan who scored a commendable 44 points.
