Kerry Burgess 32 from Handforth who runs her own marketing business launched the Alderley Edge & Cheshire Virtual Xmas Markets to help support the local businesses and supporting 2 charities by using a Facebook group, within 24 hours people are buying from the local businesses and bringing great joy by connecting with each other and having brilliant Xmas discussions.

With lockdown coming this is the perfect time to launch a virtual event and help fundraise for 2 local charities and help businesses continue to trade from home by providing an online platform to sell and interact. Chosen charities are Chelwood Food Bank Plus - Fighting SK Poverty, they support people throughout Stockport and beyond who are in need of food, they have been amazing at supporting people in the community. The other charity is Wilmslow Girls Crafts for Charity Craft sales helping The Christie Hospital & East Cheshire Hospice which is a great project.

The event will carry on until xmas eve to allow those last minute sales to happen, it is all about supporting these local businesses in these crucial times. Kerry said "It is bringing the community together in such tough times, utilising online technology to host such an event and helping businesses to continue to safely trade with no face to face interactions and fundraise for 2 charities it is a win win situation for all . Anyone can join the group and be part of it. Thank you to the Cheshire Business Directory who are a sponsor"
