Cereal company Mornflake is supporting new classes promoting the wellbeing of children through yoga and mindfulness with a hearty breakfast boost.

The family oat miller, recognised by major charities for its work to promote the country's physical and mental health, has supported Karma Kids in its launch at Regent's Park's Hub cafe, Nantwich.

Borne out of lockdown, the initiative aims to ease anxiety children may experience living through the pandemic by increasing their physical fitness and mental resilience.

Thursday classes welcome toddlers to teens and include yoga exercise, meditation and mindfulness techniques.

The Crewe-based company has supported a healthy start to their day by supplying a donation of Mornflake Superfast Top Porridge pots to children participating in the classes.

Managing director John Lea said: "It's hard to imagine how difficult it has been for children during these challenging times so we were delighted to hear about this local initiative to support mental resilience and encourage exercise from a young age."

Mornflake has long promoted healthy lifestyles among its consumers and employees. It remains Crewe Alex FC's long-standing shirt sponsor and supports children's football training and the UK Triathlon series for serious athletes and beginners.

The company produces a wide range of healthy and delicious porridge, granola and muesli products approved by the cholesterol charity Heart UK and Fibreful Oatbran Porridge endorsed by the digestive health charity Guts UK.

Karma Kids founder Jade Lawrence, a mother-of-five, said: "We are grateful to Mornflake for getting behind us. Lockdown has had a massive impact on many of our children's mental and physical wellbeing. They have had to adjust to online learning and struggle to stay motivated, while missing social interaction with their peers and the routine of school.

"It's proven that participation in regular physical activity releases happy hormones and reduces stress and anxiety. Karma Kids offers fun wellness classes to build positive, confident, calm and relaxed minds."

The classes have got off to a good start and more are in the pipeline including Karma Adults. For more information call Jade on 07961 008794.
