Brilliant King's School A level students are celebrating their best set of independently assessed A Level results since 2014.

A stunning 52% of all grades are A* or A, with 84% at A* - B and 95% at A* - C. Over a third of students achieved an A* in at least one subject with a third also achieving AAA or better. In an increasingly competitive admissions process, their success means 77% will now go up to their first choice of university.

King's Head of Foundation, Jason Slack, welcomed the return to standard examinations this year, with grades having been assessed by teachers over the last two years of the COVID crisis.

He said: "I'm extremely proud of our students who have been exceptional in their work ethic to gain success in their A Levels despite the disruption to their studies in the last two years. Coping with uncertainty over how grades would be awarded from one year to the next and even the confusion over what might be included in exams through the provision of 'advanced information' from Exam Boards has required tenacity and patience and it's all paid off in the end."

"This has been an amazing year group and we are immensely proud of their achievements in all aspects of school life. They are leaving us with the confidence, skills and academic achievements to join the best universities across the country to study a diverse range of courses. Some have chosen equally exciting apprenticeships and we wish them all the very best for their future success."
