Cheshire businesses have raised questions and issues about the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the economy with Macclesfield MP David Rutley.

He took part in a question and answer webinar with mor than 20 members of the North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce.

A wide range of issues were discussed and the MP also provided more details on the government’s business support schemes and steps being taken to help local companies.

How companies will move on from the current lockdown, the government’s Job Retention Scheme and the furloughing of workers were also on the agenda.

The MP also talked about issues surrounding the regeneration of Macclesfield town centre and plans to help bolster the local economy in the months ahead.

The event was organised by Sue Bowden, chief executive at North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, and was facilitated by Ceri James, a business coach at ActionCOACH.

Following the webinar, Mr Rutley said: “I am very grateful to the North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce for helping to arrange this opportunity for me to help answer questions from many local businesses.

“During these unprecedented times, they are facing real challenges and I am working hard to address their concerns and provide support. I am particularly grateful to Sue Bowden and the chamber for all that they are doing to support our business community during the pandemic.”
