MILTON Park in Alsager has joined the growing number of Cheshire East green spaces recognised as being among the best in the UK.
It has scooped a Green Flag Award - a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
It puts it among a further eight formal parks and green spaces in the borough - and a record-breaking 1,970 UK and 131 in 13 other countries around the world - to have received one of the prestigious awards.
Geoff Baggott, chairman of Ansa, which provides parks services for seven of the award-winning parks, said: "The area is blessed with many wonderful green spaces, which provide so many benefits - not least that they encourage people to get outdoors and stay active.
"And so I hope these awards will encourage people to visit a park they perhaps have not visited before."
