The teams at the 5 offices of Chafes Hague Lambert Solicitors have been fundraising over the last 12 months to raise money to help fund two St John Ambulance Community First Responders (CFR).
In 2018/19 the firm raised over £1100 with their charity of the year collection, and this year it was decided that they would like to help fund the training of the volunteers who are aiming to get out into and service their local communities as a Community First Responder.
A CFR responds to local emergencies and provides lifesaving first aid in those vital minutes before an ambulance arrives. The training they receive means they are able to assess the situation, providing immediate first aid if needed. As well as basic first aid equipment, they carry automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and are trained and equipped to provide oxygen therapy.
Caroline Calverley Practice Manager at Chafes Hague Lambert said “we are close to the communities our offices are in and we know that having someone in the community who has been trained in first aid and can reach the patient quickly makes all the difference at the time of need. This is why we particularly wanted to help fund the training of a CFR through the St John Ambulance.”
Eva Szabo, Community Fundraising Co-ordinator North West Region for St John Ambulance said “This is wonderful news for St John Ambulance and we would like to thank all the team at Chafes Hague Lambert so much. We are delighted with the generous donation and to have it to ring fence specifically towards the volunteer CFR training and operational needs for the CFR programme”.
St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity.
