STUDENTS BRING CHRISTMAS CHEER TO SHOPPERS

Last week young adults with Learning Disabilities from Petty Pool Vocational College went on tour to bring #Christmas cheer to shoppers from all over the North West. Both students and staff were literally “singing for their supper” as they danced and sang in the streets to all their favourite Christmas songs. After this four-day carol singing spectacular, the students of Petty Pool would like to gratefully thank shoppers of #Warringtonintu Trafford Centre#Liverpool and #Chester for helping to raise over £4,500! They hope shoppers enjoyed the festivities as much as they enjoyed entertaining them. This money will help to fund the Petty Pool annual Christmas activities and on top of all their dancing, students have been working hard to sell raffle tickets to raise more money for the cause.

Christmas activities include an onsite, wheelchair accessible Ice Rink with a festive BBQ, roasted chestnuts and all the best Christmas songs. This will be followed by a Student Achievement Awards ceremony at the Christmas party. This event is enjoyed by both staff and students at the Vale Royal Abbey.
Jayne Wilson, Chief Executive said “It is so important for our students to have an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. Our ice rink and Christmas party are essential parts our student calendar and are looked forward to with much anticipation. They provide the perfect opportunity for our students to develop their social skills, solidify friendships and enjoy a magical festive season.”
