MACCLESFIELD FC have swooped to sign talented young midfielder Abdul Djalo, who has been playing for Northwest Counties title rivals Skelmersdale United.

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a deal that spans until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The former Manchester United youth graduate arrives at the Leasing.com Stadium after enjoying a dual registration with Warrington Rylands and Skelmersdale.

Djalo, a central midfielder, started his career at Manchester United where he progressed through the youth ranks, before making the move to Crewe Alexandra.

After completing his youth development at Gresty Road, he then spent two years at FC Barnton before signing a dual registration with Skelmersdale and Warrington Rylands.

The tenacious midfielder has made 27 appearances for Skelmersdale this season - scoring three goals and being awarded the Man of the Man accolade on four separate occasions. He has also made two appearances for Warrington.

Speaking after signing, he told the Macclesfield's YouTube channel: "It's a massive club to be at and I want to show my talents to the fanbase and be the best player I can be."

Meanwhile, Macclesfield FC have confirmed that 18-year-old defender Louis Shead has secured a loan move to Northern Premier League Division One West side Prescot Cables until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

And forward Elliot Rokka has returned to Atherton Collieries, following the completion of his loan deal.
