A busy year ahead for Chamber

Networking with the South Cheshire of Commerce is in full swing with a busy programme of events designed to connect businesses and support the area’s economic growth.

Diary dates include a range of welcome mornings highlighting Chamber membership benefits, lunch get-togethers at local hotels and pubs, speed networking sessions and Final Fridays at member business premises.

On February 19 the Chamber teams up with Cheshire East Council to stage a Public Tendering Masterclass. The presentation, taking place at Ibis Styles Hotel, aims to help smaller businesses win public sector contacts.

The following day there is an opportunity to make new business contacts over lunch at a ‘Meet and Eat’ event hosted by the Mediterranean restaurant Ego at The Fox, Haslington.

February 28 sees the Final Friday programme visit the Railway Hotel Beatles-themed pub in Nantwich. The date is staged in conjunction with Right at Home which provides care services for people in their own homes throughout South Cheshire.

March highlights include a welcome morning at the Chamber’s Nantwich office on Hospital Street and a fast-paced speed networking date at Rookery Hall offering businesses a chance to make many new businesses contacts.

March will end with a Final Friday at Firenze restaurant bar in Nantwich in conjunction with Howard Worth accountants.

Summer highlights include networking at the Nantwich Show ground on the eve of the crowd-puller and a black tie dinner with guest speaker Simon Weston CBE on June 4.

The Falklands war veteran, known for his charity work and recovery from support severe burns injuries, is expected to draw a sell-out crowd to Crewe Hall and sponsorship opportunities are available to businesses wishing to be part of a memorable night.

Chamber Chief Executive Paul Colman said: “Chamber membership is wide and varied and includes local people with a diverse skill set.

“Networking attendees make useful business contacts and relationships are formed which prove mutually beneficial.  

“They share not only business cards, but their experience and know-how. There is a genuine desire to support each other and see the area prosper as part of the Chamber movement.

“Every year we welcome scores of new faces to our networking events and 2020 is already off to a great start.”

The Chamber will continue representation activities as the ‘ voice of local business’ during 2020.

Its Business Council continues to press for HS2 in line with a mission statement to be ‘an asset integral to the success of local business’ and influential in promoting the area’s prosperity.

It is supported in this mission by major employers and organisations. Patrons are AO.com, Assurant, Bentley Motors, Cheshire College South & West, Guinness Partnership, Manchester Metropolitan University, Mornflake, Reaseheath College and SG World, Crewe.
