ChesterBoat has announced it is to continue its popular pleasure boat services into the Winter Season including the Christmas break.

Following another successful year for the team at ChesterBoat, managing director, Brian Clarke has announced that he is to extend operations to run throughout November, December and into January 2020.  Recognising the shift in leisure pursuits of passengers and visitors to the city, he said ‘Visitors are increasingly enjoying leisure breaks throughout the year. We have watched this trend with interest and have seen a significant increase in enquiries to accommodate passengers during the winter season.’

He went on to say, ‘We have invested in our crew over the last 12 months, upgraded our pleasure boats and felt the time was right to cover the winter season to meet demand.’

ChesterBoat has invested in new engines for its flotilla of leisure boats, refurbished its flag ship The Lady Diana, recruited and trained three new skippers and believes the demand for trips on the river, whatever the weather, has increased.

Ben Newell, Lisa Gostelow and Jenny Taylor are three newly qualified skippers and now form part of the skipper crew. The engines, which managing director, Brian Clarke, chose because of their British quality and standard, were newly fitted to the flotilla at the beginning of 2019.

The extension of the service is of particular interest due to the increasing popularity of the period between Christmas and New Year for families and friends looking for something alternative to do and escape the hustle and bustle of the winter sales. ChesterBoat offers the opportunity for passengers to sit back, relax and enjoy the views with a drink from the fully licensed bar.
