FOUR long-serving members of Macclesfield FC’s squad have put pen to paper and further committed themselves to the club.
Laurent Mendy, Brandon Lee, Lewis Fensome, and Neil Kengni have all signed new contracts.
Kengni joined Macclesfield from Marine last summer and has gone on to make over 75 appearances for The Silkmen so far scoring 18 times in all competitions.
Lee arrived at the club in its first season, signing from Longridge Town in 2021, and has been a key part of its promotion success.
Fensome also joined during Macclesfield’s North West Counties campaign from Lancaster City and has made over 70 appearances.
Mendy stays with The Silkmen having been with the club since its beginnings making more than 100 appearances and becoming a key figure in both defence and in the midfield.
Macclesfield have also moved to sign defender Drew Baker from Fleetwood Town.
Baker was an ever-present at FC United of Manchester back in 2021/22 which earned him a move to The Cod Army in January 2022.
He started his career at Manchester City’s Academy before moving on for spells with Crewe Alexandra and Oldham Athletic in their academies.
Baker has had spells at Bohemians and Waterford in the League of Ireland to further his experience.
Another former League of Ireland player has also agreed terms with Macclesfield. Striker Tunde Owolabi, 28, recently left Cork City. He also had a spell with St Patrick’s Athletic during his time playing in Ireland.
The Belgian National has had spells with fellow Northern Premier League sides Radcliffe, Hyde United and FC United of Manchester.
He joined Hamilton Academical in Scotland from FC United having scored 35 goals in the 2019/20 season before his move.
Meanwhile, keeper Dylan Berry has extended his loan from Norwich City until the end of the season.
