WILMSLOW is getting a town centre brand, marketing campaign and events programme.

The town council is funding the project and the programme is being organised by a town centre management group.

The aim of the group is to create a town centre that is "vibrant, serves residents' changing needs and fights back from the devastating impact of the pandemic."

The group, set up earlier this year, has been busy working with social enterprise Groundwork on a positive new brand which has now been unveiled.

'Wilmslow's Way Better' includes website and social media pages which are now live.

Wilmslow's Way Better will feature regular posts and updates on everything across the town centre: from food and drink, shopping and exploring green open spaces, to wellbeing and business updates.

The first Wilmslow's Way Better event - funded by the town council - is a 'Food, Film, Fashion Festival'. It is taking place in December...

Other initiatives include food promotions and special offers and fashion shows in town centre shops.

Town council chairman Martin Watkins said: "The Town Centre Management team has a great vision for events and promotions that will drive footfall to Wilmslow Town Centre.

"The Food, Film and Fashion Festival promises to be a fantastic opportunity to showcase businesses and highlight to residents the variety and quality of establishments available locally."
