Four Knutsford-based businesses came together to show local women how to look and feel their best. The sell-out 'Get Up & Glow' event, which was held at Dexter & Jones on 19 November, was organised by Laura Davies of personal styling and shopping service, SMOOK, with The Vibrancy Hub, Beauty by Debbie and Elevate Personal Training.

"So many women suffer from low self-esteem, while others have definitely lost confidence since Covid hit" explained Laura. "I wanted to put on a styling and self-care event to encourage women to get their glow back and feel good from the inside out. And as we're all feeling a little frazzled in the run-up to Christmas, I thought now would be the perfect time to do it. It was also a great opportunity to encourage people to shop sustainably and support our brilliant local businesses, of which there are so many in Knutsford."

Katy Brown of wellbeing coaching specialist, The Vibrancy Hub kicked off the afternoon event by giving an insight into the power of mindset and meditation and why it is so important to make time for self-care, particularly during the pre-Christmas rush.

Continuing the theme, Clare Millington of Knutsford's Elevate Personal Training spoke about why exercise is so good for wellbeing, how it can have a positive impact on daily life and why it's crucial for women to do weight training. She also shared some invaluable fitness tips for busy women.

High street designer and stylist, Laura who lives and works in Knutsford and set up SMOOK during lockdown, demonstrated the power of wearing colour with confidence and how to choose colours to make you glow. She also explained how knowing your neutrals can help to build the perfect capsule wardrobe and shared some of her favourite style secrets.

Beauty therapist, Debbie Ellis from Beauty by Debbie, highlighted why taking time to have treatments is essential for self-confidence and self-esteem. She also demonstrated how to achieve the perfect smoky eye and gave complimentary manicures, leaving guests feeling pampered and relaxed.

"Get & Up and Glow was a huge success, and I was blown away by the amazing support, not just from those attending the event, but also from local businesses, which were keen to get involved." said Laura. "Knutsford boutiques, The Edit, and Cocaranti, and Mobberley-based, online independent, Personalitee, loaned clothes for the event, while Pulse of Perfumery, The Edit and Cocaranti all donated gorgeous gifts for our goody bags. Sadie Sherran of produced some beautiful images.

"It was a wonderful afternoon of fizz, cake, fitness, self-care and styling and I can't wait to do it all again. We've had so much incredible feedback from the event that we're already looking into doing something similar in the new year."
