CHESHIRE East Council has launched a new job matching service to help people who are temporarily not working find jobs in key roles where support is needed.

The council’s supported employment team is looking to recruit people for traditional health roles in hospitals and social care as well as temporary posts in supermarkets, food production and delivery services.

Although these sectors will be the focus, the team will also try to link people to emerging roles in a wider variety of sectors “where appropriate”.

People who feel they have the skills and the capacity required can register their interest at www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/jobmatch

Employers looking for staff on a short-term basis to fill vital roles can email the council at supportedemployment@cheshireeast.gov.uk to outline their requirements.

Jill Rhodes, council cabinet member for public health and corporate services, said: “These are unprecedented times, which sometimes call for unusual requests to support the fight against coronavirus. It is vital that we do whatever we can to make sure we beat this virus.

“So, I am asking people, especially those who have currently been placed on temporary leave from their main employer, to get behind the national effort and help out if you can.”

When people complete the online form, they will be prompted to show which areas they are prepared to work in. This information – along with a CV, if applicants have one – will help to match them to the roles and the locations where the help is most needed.
