Cycling fanatics, Grosvenor Shopping Centre has got some 'wheelie' good news for you! The shopping centre is delighted to announce that PEAK cyclesport opened its doors on Saturday 18 January.

It represents the local independent business' second store in Macclesfield, the first of which is based on Wood Street - just outside the town centre - and provides bike handovers and workshop services.

Owned by Andy Bower, his new mall-based shop will be concentrating on selling top-quality and renowned electric bike brands, including Riese & Müller, Kalkhoff, Focus, Bianchi and Haibike.

From urban comfort to full-on trail mountain and even super lightweight electric road bikes, PEAK cyclesport promises to cater for all styles, while all the models come with the highest quality Bosch, Shimano, Fazua and Yamaha motor systems and batteries, with up to a 50,000-mile lifespan.

Ed Kennedy, centre manager at Grosvenor Shopping Centre, said: "Off the back of The Entertainer's opening before Christmas, this is another bit of incredibly exciting news for the shopping centre.

"Cycling, on the whole, has risen in prominence over the years and there is a particular interest for it here in Macclesfield, which has got a number of excellent cycling and scenic routes for the local community to make the most of.

"We're looking forward to working with Andy and PEAK cyclesport and believe his bikes will become incredibly popular with our shoppers, especially with spring and summer still to come."

Andy Bowers, owner of PEAK cyclesport, added: "There's an electric bike revolution across Europe and this new store will enable customers to see the best technology in a pleasant and convenient environment at Grosvenor Shopping Centre.

"Macclesfield and the surrounding areas are great places to explore by electric bike, from the quiet but rugged Peak District to the leafy Cheshire lanes." said Andy. "We're delighted to be working with the team at Grosvenor Shopping Centre to bring our offering to a wider audience, the centre has really helped make the new store happen.

"This is part of an organic, local town centre regeneration led by enterprising, speciality retailers and leisure operators in conjunction with landlords committed to the high street and making Macclesfield a great place to live, work, play and shop."
