Cath Stock, a care village support worker from Macclesfield, has topped the Amazon best-seller charts as part of a collaborative authorship of 'The Warrior Wellbeing Toolkit': a book on the topic of best wellbeing practice.

Cath, 56, who works part-time at not-for-profit care village Belong Macclesfield, has contributed to the book, produced by Carol-Ann Reid, with Cath's chapter focusing on the Energy Alignment Method (EAM), which is a new holistic therapy aimed at getting people to tune into their own energy, to gain clarity on the issues that are affecting them. In addition to being part of a chart-topping book, Cath is one of the only 31 people in the world accredited to teach this new holistic therapy, following completion of a ten-month training programme.

Published on World Mental Health Day 2019, the 'The Warrior Wellbeing Toolkit' consists of 16 chapters that recount each contributor's own mental health journey, with all the proceedings to go to the Mental Health Foundation.

Commenting on her work, Cath said: "Who would've thought that whilst I was working night shifts at Belong Macclesfield, I would also become a contributor to a best-selling book! It is a great personal achievement for me, and I am also truly proud to be one of only a small number of people in the world who can mentor on EAM practice.

"Using EAM is a way to get people to focus on their energies to get to the root of why they may be feeling anxious or depressed. Working in the care sector involves dealing with incredible pressures while supporting those around you so anything we can do to promote positive mental wellbeing is invaluable."

Caroline Ray, general manager at Belong Macclesfield commented: "We congratulate Cath for her successes with the new book and are delighted to have such a talented team member at our village.

"Belong takes mental wellbeing extremely seriously, both for our workforce and customers, and we are always striving to ensure our customers feel comfortable and at home. Our admiral nurses provide mental health care and specialist dementia support, and our experience day team provide interactive activities to ensure customers truly feel part of a community."
