Murder is in the air at Cheshire's multi award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum in Northwich on Friday 4 October. It is 1942, the height of WWII, and Britain's enemies are targeting its key industries. Cheshire appears to be at a safe distance from the bombing targets, but is this an illusion? At the Salt Barge pub (opposite the Lion Salt Works) land girls, boat welders, salt workers, doctors and trainee pilots are relaxing after a hard week of war effort. But over a two-course wartime meal* at The Salt Barge Pub, there is an 'incident' that changes everything. The evening starts in the pub in Ollershaw Lane, Marston, at 7pm (with food starting at 7:30pm) and continues in the historic museum. Tickets cost £25 per person and can be bought online at www.ticketsignite.com/event/1523/murder-the works.

Is this 'incident' the result of a petty grudge or something more sinister? Fear and suspicion already sweep the town amid rumours that the Lion Salt Works or Yarwoods Boat yard are prime targets for bombing and espionage.

Action is required. The investigator needs all the help he can get in identifying the murderer and their motives. With village feuds simmering, there will be a number of suspects to question and more than a few red herrings.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Wellbeing, said: "This promises to be thrilling night of music, intrigue and deception. Set against the atmospheric backdrop of the Museum, there will a chance to question the suspects and daw your own conclusions, hopefully before the killer strikes again."

Actors in period costume from Cheshire's Urban Trendz Theatre will be playing key roles and though war time dress is optional, a prize will be awarded for the best dressed guest.

Urban Trendz Theatre, producers of this bespoke Murder Mystery evening, are based in Hartford, Northwich. The Murder Mystery night is suitable for adults and children over 16 years old. Parking is free at the Lion Slat Works Museum and vegetarian menus are available.
