CONGLETON Town chairman Stephen Burgess says there is a "buzz" around the club as the Bears look to secure one of the three promotion spots up for grabs in the NWFCL Premier Division.

After seeing his side finishing just 14 points off the league champions City of Liverpool last season, he told the official league website: "We're really looking forward to the season."

He added: "It's all looking positive at the club. Off the pitch it's just going so well. Things are definitely happening around Congleton at the moment."

After a disappointing 2018/19 season in the NWCFL First Division South, Alsager Town and their Chairman Terry Greet are hoping that his ninth season at the club is a more positive one.

Looking back he told the website: "It was a difficult season, to be fair, and we were just happy to be well away from the relegation problems."

The Bullets have now appointed Lee Bennett and Dan Davies at the Woodpark Stadium.

Terry said: "We're trying to build from scratch yet again and it's difficult at the moment. Anywhere around mid-table for us would be a decent season."
