Summer Holiday Fun for Children Continues at Cheshire's Lion Salt Works

The multi-award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum, based near Northwich, will be hosting two more weeks of action-packed summer fun for children across the region. The themed activities weeks, include craft activities relating to 'Journey to Space' (20-21 August) and 'Stained Glass Windows' (27 August - 28 August) For more information go to http://westcheshiremuseums.co.uk/ or call the Museum on 01606 275040.

The Museum's Tuesday and Wednesday activities take place between 10:30am - 1pm and 2pm - 4:30pm. These drop-in activities are suitable for young visitors aged up to 11 and cost £2 per child. Visitors do not have to pay to go into the Museum to take part in these events. The Museum's site has an imaginatively-themed play area, parking is free and the cafe and shop is open to everyone.

Journey to Space - Tuesday 20 August - Wednesday 21 August

This year is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing by Apollo II. The Museum celebrates with crafts that are 'out of this world'.

Stained Glass Windows - Tuesday 27 August - Wednesday 28 August

Have a go at making a colourful stained glass windows for home, but with a twist on traditional materials.

The Lion Salt Works features not only fun and interactive displays about the story of salt and its impact on the landscape, people and industries of Cheshire but also a child-friendly cafe, butterfly garden and large play area. There is plenty of free parking.
