SIX local charities have benefitted from generous donations from the Macclesfield Sheepdog Trials Association.

And the town's MP David Rutley was on hand to help present the cheques, totalling £2,400, to the nominated organisations.

Representatives from Macclesfield Multiple Sclerosis Society; the British Heart Foundation; the Rossendale Trust; Macmillan Cancer Support; East Cheshire Hospice; and Ronald McDonald House, each received a cheque for £400/

The proceeds were raised from last year's successful event and the MP said: "Once again, the generosity and hard work of the Macclesfield Sheepdog Trails Association has benefitted a number of local charities whose work is so important in our communities."
