Free transport festival at the Anderton Boat Lift on Saturday 8-9 June

The Anderton Boat Lift, near Northwich in Cheshire, known as one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Waterways', will be hosting a free, family-friendly, Transport Festival on Saturday 8 June and Sunday 9 June, between 10:30am and 3:30pm. The event will see the grounds of the Anderton Boat Lift transformed by classic cars from the Cheshire Capri Owners Club and North West Casual Classics as well as the Dennis Menace F2 Sidecar racing team. The Ford Capri Car Club Owners will be displaying a wide selection of Capris, including a Tackford Capri, a 1970s Capri and a Laser Capri Dennis Menace Racing will also be showing off the sleek lines of its British F2 sidecars.

The Anderton Boat Lift is also delighted to welcome North West Casual Classics which will be featuring cars such as a 2012 iconic Morgan Supersport, a 1965 Triumph Herald, two Spartans (1980 and 1981), 1976 Starcraft Camper Van and 1987 Red Bull Mini. A 1923 Bullnose Morris Occasional Four will also be on display at the event.

The event is free and there is no cost to enter the site. Visitors can enjoy the cars which will be displayed on the terraced grounds leading down to the giant Anderton Boat Lift and River Weaver as well as near the entrance overlooking the Trent & Mersey Canal. Also available free of charge is the interesting, interactive exhibition on the history of the Lift, the well-stocked shop and the popular tree-top Coffee Shop. that serves a wide selection of drinks and freshly-made food.
