The Knutsford Community First Responders are a group of volunteers whose aim is to preserve and save life and to promote recovery in an emergency situation, in which an ambulance is not immediately available. They are trained by and work with the North West Ambulance Service. Over six months the KCFR respond to over 500 calls, arriving at more than half of those before the ambulance. Because of their ongoing training they can now attend emergency calls to any age groups. They also raise money to provide defibrillators across Cheshire placing them at strategic points at a cost of over £1,000.00 a unit.
