Cheshire's Anderton Boat Lift near Northwich, has today announced the beers that will feature at its seventh annual beer and cider festival, being held between Friday 24 May and Sunday 26 May. In what promises to live up to the success of its previous festivals, twelve excellent beers from the UK will feature, as well as a number of carefully selected ciders. Open from 7pm until last orders at 11pm, tickets on the night will cost £7.50 but can be pre-ordered for £5 at https://visitchester.digitickets.co.uk/category/13823

Some of the beers and ales featured at this year's festival include Conway Brewery's Beachcomber Blonde, Glastonbury Ales' Hedgemonkey and Parkway Brewery's Giggle & Titter. Ciders include Slack Alice, Celtic Warrior and Cheeky Pig (a full list is featured at the end of this release).

Beer tokens will cost £2 each or ten for £15.00. Each night, freshly-sourced food, including gourmet burgers, will be available in the Lift View Marquee. There will also be a Prosecco, Gin and non-alcoholic bar. The event is being sponsored by David Wilson Homes.

Timothy Turner, Anderton Boat Lift, said: "This year we have a great line-up of beers and ciders along with live music from top local bands. This promises to be a really special weekend for everyone."

This year's bands are The Dans, Reminds and The Gospel Truth Soul Band. During the festival they will be playing rock, funk and blues and 1980s covers through to Soul and Motown.

The Anderton Boat Lift is the world's first successful boat lift and an acknowledged masterpiece of engineering. Still in operation today, the Lift is a fascinating combination of working historic structure and fun, educational experience. Its site comprises a series of grassy terraces leading down to the River Weaver and the Lift View Marquee, where the beer festival is being held. Food will be available through the evening, provided by the Lift's in-house catering team, who have become well known locally for their fresh, tasty and affordable food."
