Forget the DIY, instead kick back and enjoy the Bank Holiday by being a festivalgoer at a free three-day community music festival in the grounds of Northwich's historic Lion Salt Works Museum between Saturday 25 May and 27 May. The event will feature local bands and children can enjoy imaginative and fun indoor and outdoor activities. Hot food and a licensed bar will be on site. This free-to-attend music festival will start at 12 noon and finishing at 7:30pm on Sunday and 5pm on Monday. On Saturday there will be a free evening of music until 11pm in the museum's historic Thompson Suite.
Live & Local will celebrate up and coming local and regional bands as well as firm favourites from the music scene.
Iain Stead, Managing Director of music events company, Mac's Music, based in Northwich, said: "The Bank Holiday Bonanza is the latest in a series of highly successful community music festivals held at the Lion Salt Works. This historic and atmospheric venue is a great place to switch off, relax and just enjoy the moment. During the weekend our outdoor stage will showcase talented local and regional singers and bands. They will be playing a mixture of music from acoustic and folk to cover songs and light jazz. It promises to be a weekend to remember and we warmly welcome everyone."
Parking will be clearly sign-posted and there will be free access to the industrially themed play area, shop, cafe and butterfly harden. Charges will apply for festival goers who want to visit the Museum (though there will be no charges for being part of the music festival).
