On Saturday 23 March the Mayor of Knutsford welcomed 140 guests to his Charity Ball at The Courthouse in Knutsford.  The evening was a fantastic success and a combination of sponsorship, tickets sales, prize balloons, silent auction, magnificent tombola and raffle ticket sales has raised over £8,700 for the Mayor’s local charities: Knutsford Heritage Centre, Friends of the Moor, Knutsford Community First Responder Trust and The Welcome.

The Courthouse made a fabulous setting for the event and there was a Spring blossom theme for the night with beautiful table centres from florist Ian Lloyd Events.   Guests were served a delicious three course meal prepared by Steven Tuke, Executive Chef from Flat Cap Hotels.  The Courthouse generously provided drinks for the drinks reception.   Event Buddha sponsored the production and staging for the ball and lit the room beautifully.  ALEX the Singer kindly supported the entertainment by singing two sets.  Tatton Photography was the official photographer for the event.

Entertainment was generously sponsored by Fisher German and guests were entertained by Magician Carl Royle and DJ Decades Discos who kept the guests dancing until the early hours of the morning.

The first prize goodies on offer were “Up, up and Away” helium balloons, each one containing a voucher for a fabulous night out including vouchers from local restaurants and pubs: Botanist, Brasserie Blanc, Giovanni’s, Gusto, Pizza Express, Lost & Found, Eastern Revive, Wine and Wallop, The Lambing Shed, Pastiche, Cranford Café, Old Sessions House, April’s Kitchen, The Legh Arms, The White Bear, The Smoker, Barnshaw Smithy, Plumley’s, Project 53, The Mere, Cottons, Dun Cow plus from further afield: the Bear’s Paw and Crewe Hall.  The sound of balloons popping filled the reception space and the balloons were all sold within 10 minutes!

We had some fantastic silent auction prizes including a golf day at High Legh, A bespoke two piece suit from Lloyd Hall, an eyecare voucher from Wendy Diddams’ Opticians, family photoshoots from Wild Child Photography and Sarah Jane King, a VIP tour of the Bentley Factory, Chloé sunglasses from Clare & Illingworth, a voucher from Elizabeth Beaumont, A Half Day Land Rover Experience from Guy Salmon, a beautiful framed print of King Street donated by Vermillion, a handmade jewellery set from Clarity Contemporary Jewellery, a hand carved Owl from Andy Burgess and a bottle of Champagne signed by Prime Minister Theresa May, donated by Esther McVey MP.

We ran a ‘Mayor’s Magnificent Tombola’ with prizes including a chocolate hamper from Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe, vouchers and many more bottles and prizes generously donated by local businesses.  The raffle also proved popular with star prizes including a night for two with a £60 food voucher for Rose & Crown, a hamper from the Lambing Shed (donated by Manchester Airport Group), over £100 worth of treatments donated by Knutsford Medi Spa, a stay for two and £40 food voucher for The Dog at Peover, a manicure from Diamond Nails and a facial from Roberta Beauty redefined.

Each table was sponsored by a business and this enabled us to fully ‘brand’ these tables with the corporate identity of the sponsor.  Thank you to Bentley, Eleven Recruitment, Ultimate Creative Communications, KDR Recruitment, Michael McDonald, Packaging Automation, Knutsford Admin, Sinclair Law, McAlister Family Law, Knutsford Veterinary Surgery, Elite Health, Watterson Financial Planning, Hewitt Interiors, VME and Bridgfords for your amazing support.

Annabel Irvine, Mayor’s PA said: “The ball has been a great fundraising success raising a record-breaking amount of £8,707 this year.  We couldn’t have achieved this without the support of all the local shops, restaurants and businesses who have so generously supported and donated products and vouchers for the event.  Thank you to all who attended on the night for helping to make the evening fantastic!”
