Michelle Ackerley is to host a talk about her career as a TV presenter and journalist on the 16th April at 7pm at her former school in Cheshire. Ackerley is best known for her work on BBC programmes such as Watchdog and The One Show. She was educated at Alderley Edge School for Girls where she was Deputy Head Girl during her final year.

Michelle said ‘I’m really looking forward to going back to where it all started’ and added ‘I think it’s very important to inspire others to reach their potential and I’m looking forward to sharing my story’.

Alderley Edge School for Girls said ‘Michelle is one of our success stories and we are very excited to have her back with us’.

Michelle is presenting this event to help support John Offord, a former colleague at the BBC who is running the London marathon in memory of his late father. John, the event organiser, asked if Michelle would help him run a fundraising event and Michelle jumped at the chance having recently lost her father too.

Anyone wanting to book tickets can do so via the link below. Tickets cost £6 each and all profits raised from this activity will help the charity Livability tackle social isolation and the barriers that can cause this in the lives of disabled and vulnerable people.
