The King's School in Macclesfield sixth formers proved they have brains as well as beauty when they raised a record £7,000 for the Christie Cancer Hospital appeal.

Over the last decade and beyond fashionistas from the #Macclesfieldschool have raised well over £50,000 with the annual runway event that they plan, choreograph and execute themselves.
This year the theme was glitter and gold and featured disco classics such as Mambo Number 5, Club Tropicana and It’s Raining Men.
Organiser Olivia Bowcock said: “A massive vote of thanks goes to the brilliant boohoo.com for lending us all the clothes for the evening and to Thomas Cook for donating so many fantastic raffle prizes.
The event played to a sell-out audience of over 300 fanatics in the Main Hall at Cumberland Street
