King’s School parents were strictly ballroom at a glamorous dinner dance at the Hilltop Country House in Prestbury.

The jive was talking and the glitter balls were glinting as some 120 parents and friends danced the night away.

The ‘Strictly’ themed event raised a record £18,000 courtesy of generous donations from parents and local businesses with TV legend Les Dennis hosting the auction.

Claire Dennis, who helped to organised the event as part of The Friends of King’s Ball Committee, said: “The ball was a huge success! King's School are delighted to give a generous proportion of all proceeds to charity. This year, we are supporting Destiny Garden School in Kenya, East Cheshire Hospice and Hand on Heart - raising funds towards getting defibrillators into all Macclesfield schools and community centres with people trained to use them.”
