Mums and sons at Greenbank Preparatory School in Cheadle Hulme enjoyed tea and cakes on a day dedicated to the heroines of Britain's cancer care service.
The Macmillan Nurses Coffee Morning is celebrated nationwide with organisers and participants at every event with their own story of bravery and compassion to relate.
Greenbank mum Saneta Johnson, pictured right with her son Monty, 6 said: "My father George Jones is coming through throat cancer at this very moment. He's one tough cookie, absolutely hard as nails and a great example to us all and he says the Macmillan Nurses have been wonderful and the whole family is extremely grateful."
Jacqueline Reeder, Greenbank teacher and events' organiser, said: "We always get a fantastic turn out for this event. People appreiate the work of the Macmillan nurses ad the number of cakes, pastries and fancies that have been lovingly baked at home would have pleased even Paul and Prue." The event raised £250.
