Can you help give Tinker a settled home?

Wed 16th June 2010 12.39PM

THIS month a very special home is desperately needed for a very special cat. Since the death of his owner, Tinker has spent his life being passed from “pillar to post”. He has been looked after by neighbours, sent to a cattery, and almost had a real home, until it became apparent that a member of the household was allergic to cats. During the last few weeks, Tinker was examined by the vet, as he had developed a swelling in his abdomen. The vet discovered a mass in his stomach.

Tinker’s time is limited. It could be a few months, or a couple of years, as the mass is slow growing. Tinker is desperately lonely and misses the company of a loving owner and a lap to sit on. He is being well looked after, but needs a very special person, with no other animals or children, to pamper and love him. He is so gentle, friendly and sociable, the first person to go and see him will instantly fall in love with him! Tinker is not in any pain at all, eats well and uses a litter tray.

Is there someone very special out there, who can give Tinker a loving home and a lap to curl up on? Last month, the Animal Support Volunteers were inundated with phone calls, from Cheshire Independent readers, with offers of a home for Friday, and he is now settled in his new home. Can you help to give Tinker the quality of life he deserves in the time he has left? Please telephone Evelyne on 01625 531338, or Diane on 01625 419665. ASV are delighted to report that its Charity Dinner and Auction, which took place on Saturday May 22nd, raised just over £2,000!

Although Patron Betty Driver from Coronation Street was unable to attend, due to a recent illness, Corrie’s Simon Gregson acted as auctioneer for a painting, donated by Betty, which raised £360.
