The new charity Action for Youth Africa (AYA) is hosting a Charity Christmas Craft and Gift Fair to support a new and exciting capital project at Model School in The Gambia.
This past year, they have helped Model School, an urban primary school in the busy market town of Serrakunda, to create and stock a new library. They have also helped the Aljamdou Women's Cooperative, a group of motivated women entrepreneurs in a small, rural Gambian village, to start a soap making business and a village bakery.
In the upcoming year, they aim to build a primary school in the rural village of Aljamdou, as currently students as young as five years old have to travel over ten miles by foot to go to school. They are also looking to overhaul the septic system of Model School in Serrakunda, to ensure safe and sanitary conditions for the students.
Action for Youth Africa is organising a Christmas Craft and Gift Fair to raise money for these projects. This event will be held at Disley Methodist Church Hall (74 Buxton Rd, Disley, Stockport SK12 2HE) on on Saturday 15th December 2018, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. There is free entrance for the public and there will be entertainment, food, raffles, crafts, gifts and more. The AYA Charity Christmas Craft and Gift Fair will be hosting a wide range of talented vendors offering a wide range of unique Christmas gifts to meet all of your shopping needs.
The Disley Methodist Church will be hosting a tea room with coffee, tea, cold beverages and a range of baked good. There will be face painting and free crafts for children. In addition, there will be a wide range of exceptional crafts and gifts to meet all your Christmas shopping needs!
